Orchestra Weekend Part I: Café Europa

On May 21, Mandragora Tango will be a part of "Café Europa", an evening of music and stories hosted by our very own Dan Chouinard and produced by the folks at my day job, MPR. Dan has bicycled all over Europe with his accordion and will tell stories of his travels. We will be joined by intercontinental diva Maria Jette and chaunteuse Prudence Johnson. Peter Ostroushko will play the fiddle and mandolin of rural Italy, the Rose Ensemble will sing songs from medieval churches, and Sima Shumilovsky will give life to the gypsy songs of Europe and Russia. My good friend Mark Stillman will play balkan wedding music on his accordion.
